Welcome to Outside Edge. If you're after an activity break, instruction, training or a corporate event, or simply passing through, I hope we've got something that catches your eye.

My name is Daniel Owen. I started work as an instructor of outdoor pursuits 10 years ago. My qualifications and experience are now extensive having worked as an instructor, trainer and manager all over the UK and overseas for a whole range of adventure providers and in an even wider range of activities and settings.

Outdoor pursuits have always been a big part of my life and have given me some truly unforgettable memories and experiences. Competing in The Fastnet Race 2001,a Trans Atlantic crossing 1997, 6 weeks expeditioning in Arctic Norway and climbing Mount Kenya are just a few of the highlights and continue to provide me with plenty of pub story material that I hope to bore people with for a good time to come!

It's my firm belief that adventure activities can really enhance people's lives. Whether it's conquering fears, experiencing exhilaration and excitement, learning new skills, taking up challenges, gaining confidence, making new friends or spending time with old ones … the list goes on, you find it all in adventure activities.

Outside Edge is a new company but a culmination of my 10 years in the industry. I see it as an opportunity to introduce people to a world that I am fortunate enough to be a part of. Taking all the good practices I have seen and getting rid of all the bad, I try to focus on the all important detail that I know from experience, is all too often neglected.
