Ever wondered how to surf standing waves, do tail squirts or perform a flat-spin? Do you struggle with cartwheels or keep missing those blunts?

With the development of new technology and increasing attention paid to design, in the last 10 years, Kayaking has seen a playboating revolution. It's no longer about whether you get down the river, but how!

For those who are lucky enough to have white water on their doorstep, playboating has added a whole new dimension, for those that don't, no problem, the local weir now holds as much excitement as you can handle!

At Outside Edge we'll introduce you to and develop your skills. In no time you'll be pulling some great moves and holding your own in your favourite play spot.

Our local river, the Exe, provides us with a number of weirs, each with their own unique features, allowing us to tailor the course to your individual needs. Within 30 minutes, the River Dart offers endless possibilities and is now home to the recently developed 'Anvil' playhole - truly a playboaters dream!

All we require is that you be a confident Grade 3 paddler with a reliable roll. If you want us to come to you instead, we'll do that too. Those wishing to own their own boat and equipment, just let us know when you book.

We operate on no more than a 1:6 coach/student ratio.
