Bareboat Charter
At Outside Edge, we offer a full bareboat/skipperless chartering
service.
Any boating adventure requires caution, common sense, and some basic skills so if you're familiar with the safe operation of yachts, have good basic knowledge and seamanship, you'll enjoy this option. This is your chance to really experience the freedom of the seas for yourself.
Qualifications
Sailing qualifications are helpful but not
essential as we recognise that qualifications are often misleading
in determining experience and ability. We ask that you provide us
with a run down of your sailing experience, in the interests of
the safety of the boat and those aboard. We also ask that you remain
within the bounds of your experience throughout your time aboard.

Location
We operate from a number of south coast marinas from Cornwall and
the West Country to the Solent marinas of Ocean Village, Gosport
and Lymington. This gives you the flexibility to choose the location
that you want. Individual boats however,
have a home port, stated in our prices
section. In most cases your charter will start here or in the near
vicinity. In certain circumstances however, we can arrange for the
boat to be moved. This, if achievable, may involve an additional
charge.
Handovers
You will be taken over the key features of the yacht, provided with
an operations manual and the complete crew given a thorough review
of safety procedures. The handovers for weekend events are usually
18.00hrs on the Friday. However we accommodate flexible handover
and return arrangements once we are made aware of your plans.
